Job Summary
This position is part-time/full-time and requires availability on evenings and weekends
Work will be a mix of in-person at the clinic, school-based care and some virtual care
- Provides comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and intervention to children with a variety of occupational performance issues (OPIs)
- Follows evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment
- Provides education and feedback to families
- Communicates effectively and maintains relationships with referring physicians, healthcare providers and other relevant community stakeholders
- Manages a varied caseload and meets required timelines
- Maintains complete and accurate medical records using an electronic (computerized) system
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, with experience in paediatric assessment and treatment
Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Experience/Skills
A minimum of three years of experience is preferred
Strong proficiency in assessment and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions with children. Experience treating the following areas is an asset:
Feeding
Fine motor
Sensory processing
Self-regulation
Motor planning
Experience providing care virtually
Proven ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills
Efficient time management and organizational skills are required
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Proficient oral and written communication skills in French is an asset
