- Registered Nurse (RN) diploma

- Graduate of Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC, formerly CAET), CNA exam may be pending
- Monitoring criteria for adjunctive therapy for complex or recalcitrant wounds
- Providing classifications and indications, appropriate utilization to reduce visit frequency and obtain desired outcomes
- CPR Certification

- Several years of escalating experience managing wounds and ostomies
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registration in good standing
- Practicing conservative sharp wound debridement (CSWD) and use of other debridement methods
- Functioning as a member of a nursing team who are accountable for the nursing care it provides
- To protect our patients, we require a current vulnerable sector check and a clear background check
- Current immunization record including 2 step TB test and COVID 19 vaccination*
- Using your knowledge of assessment, prevention and interventions regarding wound infections and ostomy care
- Supporting our patient’s safety by practicing according to policy and standards
- Providing edema management including bandaging based on complete lower leg assessment
- Care for patients with consuming wounds, ostomy, continence, provide lower leg assessment including ABPIs
- Critically appraising the wound care literature and apply research evidence to practice
- Using your professional assessment skills to perform a thorough holistic assessment of each client and identify the client's needs by utilizing information from the client, caregiver(s), the home environment, the Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) referral and other sources
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- A strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of our patients
