Job Description
Hiring Bonus: total amount of $2,000*


  • $1,000 after One Year of continuous employment (365 days)
  • $1,000 after completion of the Probationary Period (90 working days)
  • Note: New Hires referred by current employees of Tree Island will not be eligible for the Hiring Bonus.


Role Overview


Our Millwrights play an important role in providing emergency and preventative maintenance to our manufacturing equipment and machinery.


Within our 400,000 square feet manufacturing facility, we have over 8,000 pieces of equipment and machinery including galvanizing lines, wiredraw machines, mesh machines, nail machines, packing lines. You will get on-going exposure to a wide range of machinery (we are like Legoland for Millwrights!). This role requires membership in the Teamsters Union, Local 213.

Main Responsibilities


  • Rebuild/repair gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, prime movers, and hoists
  • Provide maintenance to our manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Preventative maintenance inspections (including repairs and adjustments)
  • Reduce unplanned breakdowns and increase planned and preventative initiatives


Compensation
  • Tool Premium $0.20 per hour
  • Tuesday to Saturday Shift Premium: $0.70 per hour
  • Base Pay:
  • Guaranteed 2% pay increase every year
  • Shift Premium: Afternoon $0.65 per hour, Graveyard $0.70 per hour
  • Premiums:
  • Sunday to Thursday Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour
  • $45.90 per hour


Available Shifts


  • Tuesday - Saturday (7:00am to 3:30pm)
  • Monday - Friday (3:30pm to 11:30pm)
  • Monday - Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm)
  • Sunday - Thursday (7:00am to 3:30pm)

What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • BC or Inter-Provincial Millwright Trade Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years' related work experience in a heavy industrial environment that includes the maintenance and repair of:
  • Gear reducers; and
