Job Description
Adecco is currently hiring for permanent, Full-time Metal Fabricator/Ironworkers- Red Seal/Journeypersons to work at our reputable client in Halifax, NS. To qualify for these roles, you must have an associate degree/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, as well as a minimum of 5 years of fabrication, assembly, and fitting experience utilizing various tools and equipment. Night shift 5:00 pm to 1:00 am (7.5 Hours) Backshift 12:00 am to 7:00 am (7 hours)Job type: Full-time |Permanent Relocation Package Offered: Yes Industry type: ShipbuildingAdvantagesFree access to our Aspire Academy for continuing professional education Competitive salary and benefits package A flexible medical, dental, and vision plan Employee & Family Assistance Programs RRSP matching program Health & Wellness reimbursements $500 referral bonus Opportunities to take part in job related training and development Growth and progression opportunities within our company and their larger network of companiesDuties and Responsibilities:Measure, cut, grind, fit, align and tack weld parts Layout of reference points and patterns Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures Layout construct patterns and templates Read, interpret, plan and execute from drawings, blueprints and procedures Install interior structures, hatches, doors, bulkheads, etc. to complete all of the steel work in the ship Instruct and mentor apprentices Operate CNC machines Set-up Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) equipment for welding Select the proper weld filler material Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, semi-automatic flame or plasma cutting equipment Layout, fabricate, fit up a pipe assembly including fittings, flanges and valves utilizing various tools and equipment Work with various pipe materials such as carbon steel, copper-nickel, and stainless steel along with the appropriate valves and fittingRequirements and Qualifications: Associate degree/CEGEP/vocational or technical training is required 5-8 or more years of fabrication, assembly, and fitting experience utilizing various tools and equipment
