Job Description
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Medical Device Reprocessing and Surgical Suite Attendant position. This position performs necessary sterilization duties as required with the objective of maintaining the hospital medical tools, medical equipment and surgical suites in clean, sterilized and orderly condition.


Qualifications Required


  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience.
  • Physically able to perform all the requirements of the job.
  • Is knowledgeable of the roles of other team members and recognizes their contributions.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis and be available to work all shifts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent that is acceptable to the Hospital.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and continuing education.
  • Collaborates with other team members.
  • Recent experience with medical device reprocessing is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform duties of decontamination, preparation/set up of processed items, sterilization, scope processing, records maintenance, distribution, dressing preparation, ordering, general cleaning/maintenance etc.
  • Current Central Service Techniques (CSAO) certificate is required (recertification required every 5 years)
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction with the ability to work with minimal supervision and contribute to a team.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.


Other Pertinent Conditions


  • Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($24.90 per hour to $25.46 per hour)

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
