We are committed to empowering our clients with efficient and user-friendly tools that streamline the grant-making process and foster community involvement. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Grants Management Market Manager.

As the Grants Management Market Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development efforts and ensuring client satisfaction within the art funding sector. Your responsibilities will encompass both strategic planning and client relationship management, enabling SmartSimple to expand its market presence globally. This position offers an exciting blend of business development, industry expertise, and technical collaboration.

Where You’ll Work:

  • SmartSimple’s headquarters are located in Toronto, Canada with our EMEA office based out of Dublin, Ireland.
  • SmartSimple is a remote-first workplace. We recognize the distinct advantages of workplace flexibility.

What You’ll Do:

Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand SmartSimple's presence in the global art funding market.
  • Represent SmartSimple at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the platform and establish partnerships.
  • Conduct market research and identify potential clients in the art funding space.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to generate leads and convert them into clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to understand their unique needs and ensure their ongoing satisfaction.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights on best practices, process optimization, and community involvement.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, gather feedback, and address any concerns or issues to maintain high levels of client retention.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize clients' utilization of the SmartSimple grants management system.

Industry Expertise:

  • Share industry insights internally to enhance team knowledge and product positioning.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform SmartSimple's product development and marketing strategies.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the art funding landscape, including grant-making processes and community involvement models.

Technical Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide feedback on enhancements or customizations needed for the art funding market.
  • Work closely with SmartSimple's technical team to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new clients.
  • Liaise with technical experts to troubleshoot and resolve any system-related challenges for clients.

What You’ll Need:

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Proven experience in the art funding sector, ideally within grant-making organizations or arts councils.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the market.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, sales, or account management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of grant-making processes and community engagement models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Arts Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Why You’ll Love Working at SmartSimple:

  • Your professional and personal development is prioritized – you’ll receive training opportunities to elevate your technical knowledge and skills, and your manager will provide ongoing feedback and regular 1-on-1s.
  • Employee recognition is key and we promote and celebrate it - you do a good job, everyone will know about it!
  • You have tons of autonomy and responsibility giving you the freedom to approach your work in a unique way that breeds creativity and independent thought.
  • We provide competitive salary and benefits along with tuition, fitness and gaming reimbursements, and bespoke mindfulness/wellness initiatives.
  • You will be entering into a culture of inclusion, innovation and collaboration. We believe software is autobiographical – and we want you to be a part of our story.
  • The first three months of your journey with SmartSimple will kick off with our Cara (meaning friend in Irish!) and Mentor program - giving you the opportunity to network and learn from team members from all levels and areas of the organization.
