Major Responsibilities
• Performing preventative maintenance as needed
• Minor electrical repairs and maintenance as needed
• Operating power tools and machinery when needed in a safe manner
• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures, as necessary
Additional Responsibilities
• Assisting fellow colleagues and Management in any additional general labour duties that may arise
• Assisting in cleaning and prepping workstations as needed
• Any additional tasks or duties assigned by Supervisor or Management team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Ability to walk, drive, lift and carry heavy items
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with changing climate conditions
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and can work well in a team setting
• Diligent in adhering to all Workplace Safety measures while performing tasks and/or using workplace tools
• Willing to comply with any additional training required by the company.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new situations and work environments.
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• Ability to check repair manuals, or parts catalogues, as necessary.
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Requirements
• Previous experience in wood workings and metal machines is a must
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Millwright or relevant work experience preferred
• Knowledge of electrical machinery and plumbing
• Forklift license preferred but not mandatory
