Location: Abbotsford, BC
Our client has been in the food production industry for over 50 years. Their products are produced locally in BC. They are looking for a Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the effective functioning of the equipment, leading the maintenance team, troubleshooting, monitoring equipment, and maintenance program, and reacting to any issues that arise. If you have a good understanding of equipment and excellent leadership skills, this is the job for you.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain the production equipment so that it is functioning effectively and safely
· Support the maintenance team with scheduling, training, monitoring attendance, performance management, employee development
· Liaise with HR Department for all employee-related issues, confidentially
· Responsible for the budgeting process, inventory, ensuring the appropriate parts and tools are available
· Proactively looking for opportunities for procedural changes, equipment, supplies and tools
· Demonstrate leadership in Health and Safety, hold employees accountable, ensure requirements are met and maintained
· Conduct hazard assessments and address any potential hazards
Qualifications:
· Must have a Millwright and/or an electrical ticket.
· 2-3 years of leadership experience, team building, able to motivate a team
· 2-3 years of experience servicing and maintaining processing and packaging line equipment
· Strong knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics
· Able to work a flexible schedule for support
· Excellent communication skills – able to provide clear, concise general instructions to staff
· Good rapport building with internal and external staff
· Valid Driver’s License
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Experience leading the development and maintenance of preventative maintenance programs, including training staff and establishing of standard operating procedures
· Understanding of automated packaging, and production equipment, preferably in food production
