About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Senior Supervisor, the Maintenance Supervisor provides supervision and leadership of a multi-disciplinary Maintenance team. This position is accountable for ensuring the facility is provided with timely, effective & safe maintenance activities as well as assisting with the implementation of plant process optimization improvements. You will direct & monitor work performed by maintenance staff, remain abreast of work orders, and assist with repair work as needed.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to live in Minnedosa or surrounding area.

Responsibilities:

• Review work packages and work collaboratively with Maintenance Planner to clarify & coordinate work scope of daily work and planned outages/Turnarounds.
• Assist with field audits ensuring standards are met and work is completed according to plan.
• Identify and react to vulnerabilities affecting on-stream factor and maintenance availability.
• Process owner for Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS) Element - Control of Work
• Prioritize backlog of both notifications and work orders and validate work orders for closure.
• Review, validate and approve work notifications daily and assign priority to repair considering scheduled duties as well as unplanned events. Ensure deadlines for regularly scheduled work do not interfere with the ability to respond to and repair unplanned breakdowns or emergencies.
• Assist with the development and upkeep of maintenance & Operations procedures.
• Participate in "HAZOP's" and "What-If's" as required.
• Support annual plant turnaround activities: provide recommendations for materials, equipment, and craft mix; liaise with Engineering and Process personnel to determine work requirements; prepare the final work schedule.
• Assist in the development and execution of plant performance improvements & assist in troubleshooting plant operational issues.
• Provide supervision and leadership of a multi-disciplinary Maintenance team.

Qualifications:

• Eligible to work in Canada.
• A Valid class 5 driver’s license
• This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
• Previous leadership experience would be an asset.
• Journeyman Trade Designation or Power Engineering certification (min 3rd class) is required. Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) may be considered.
• Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Certification would be an asset.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in an industrial plant
