Maintenance Mechanic Jobs

The Maintenance Mechanic is based out of the Cap-Pelé location and is responsible for supporting the planning, coordinating, and organizing all maintenance operations to achieve the company’s objectives in the areas of health and safety, customer satisfaction and quality.

Responsibilities

• On-call rotation as a member of the Maintenance team.
• Support and assist in all preventative maintenance planning at Cape Bald/Downeast and responsible for all daily activities related to maintenance operations.
• Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices by promoting health and safety in the workplace in accordance with procedures and policies in place.
• Participate in the JH&S committee and joint JH&S inspections.
• With support from the Maintenance Manager, ensure a proper preventative maintenance program is in place and followed.
• Participate in the planning of interventions between the maintenance department and production.
• Represent the Maintenance team on the HACCP Committee.
• Attend various operations meetings.
• Contribute to BRC documentation and processes within the Maintenance department.
• Participate in all internal and external audits of the plant.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) year of Maintenance Experience;
• Strong decision-making skills;
• Required to perform physically demanding work, climbing ladders and working in cold/wet environment;
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example;
• Strong knowledge of safe working practices and quality;
• Possess experience and understanding of refrigeration systems as well as mechanical production line equipment;
• Possess Red Seal Certification;
• Bilingualism would be an asset.
