The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

A job opportunity is available for an energetic individual with excellent mainframe z/VM & VSE Systems Programmer skills and Performance / Capacity.

The job role requires the resource to provide services in a customer, multi-vendor, multi-protocol complex network/systems environments. Candidates will be lifelong learners and highly motivated to succeed.

Interacts with the customer, vendors, and management to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.

The candidate will be a contact for z/VM, VSE and Performance / Capacity.

Engages in identifying and resolving complex problems relating to product/service installation, update, configuration, operations, performance, or other aspects of information technology products and services.

The skills required for this position are:

Experience in the installation and maintenance of z/VSE & VM operating systems and all related components such as VSE/POWER, VSE/VSAM, VTAM, plus MSHP and LIBR utilities. Knowledge of storage management and associated utilities for initializing, backup/restore and maintaining disk and tape systems. Experience with CA-DYNAM or CSI-EPIC disk and tape systems. Experience in installing and maintaining TCPIP for z/VSE networking software. Experience with FAQS/ASO console management, message and command processing and REXX IMODS. Experience with M4-Multilog console management software, installation and maintenance. Experience in installing and maintaining CA-TopSecret security software. Experience in working with IBM and ISV support teams from reporting a problem through problem resolution. This includes opening PMR/problem tickets, gathering and sending required documentation, and downloading and installing PTFs and or fixes. z/VM systems programming knowledge as it applies to running z/VSE guest systems is an advantage.

This position will evolved. People with z/OS experience will be a valuable asset as well and this person can expect to become also part of the Performance / Capacity team.
