Position Description

Title: Cast Line Operator

Department: PolyAir - IPG Toronto

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff

Status: Hourly

Position Purpose: Operates Cast Line and produces bubble

Principle Accountabilities

• Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned
• Monitors and adjusts machine controls and guides to achieve product meets specification requirements
• Ensure first offs are completed as per technical specifications.
• Ensure work-center's downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack
• Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
• Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
• Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.
• Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
• Responsible to set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Maintain blending system

of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.

• Oversee the assistants and helpers/packers and provide clear and precise instructions to them.
• Keeps area and line clean and adheres to the 5S program
• All duties outlined in the assistant job description.
• Completes required paperwork on a consistent basis meeting time requirement were necessary
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• 2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.
• Inventory experience preferred
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork
