Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Law Clerk to join our litigation team. As a Law Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting our counsel in a wide range of legal matters. You will be working directly with our legal team. You will be responsible for preparing documentation, filing documents, assisting with litigation, and providing general administrative support.


Responsibilities:

  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies, review case law, and analyze legal issues.
  • Coordinating with external parties for service, stakeholders, judgment enforcement, and external counsel.
  • Scheduling meetings, telephone calls and court-related proceedings.
  • Filing documentation on behalf of counsel.
  • Preparing, drafting, and revising correspondence, litigation documents, and other documentation, and assisting with preparations for trial, examinations for discovery, judgment enforcement and other litigation tasks, as required.
  • Corresponding with the Courts, Arbitrators, and Mediators, as required.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings as required, taking detailed notes and providing summaries to attorneys.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and readily accessible.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal document management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in using legal research tools and databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or equivalent platforms.
  • 3+ years experience with a medium or large law firm in civil litigation.
  • A comprehensive grasp of the civil litigation process, including the Rules of Civil Procedure, Caselines, Rules of the Small Claims Court, is a MUST.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to present findings effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
