- Participate in daily toolbox talks and standard work procedure reviews
- Incident investigations (support safety advisor where required)
- Responsible for performance management and when necessary, discipline up to and including terminations
- Responsible for tracking crew hours and productivity and reporting on these metrics
- Daily review of paperwork including crew timecards, FLHA’s, production sheets, coding of timecards
- Daily planning of tasks
- 3 day look ahead
- Provides day to day direction and oversight to laborers and equipment operators
- Coaches, mentors, and trains direct reports
- Plans and supervises day-to-day labor operations on site.
- Jump in on the tools and help laborers with duties such as stripping, and run equipment as required
- Identifies manpower requirements for the project and make recommendations to the Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
- Maintaining tool cribs, ensuring adequate numbers and types are available and making sure tools are in good working order
- Conducts safety meetings on a regular basis.
- Ensures adequate site-specific safety orientation and training has been completed before new employees start on site
- Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day
- Working outside in extreme weather
- 40 hours per week starting at 7:00 am. Overtime and work on weekends as required.
- Working at heights
- Manual dexterity, mechanically inclined, physically fit
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Punctual and reliable
- Positive attitude towards safety
- Willing to learn
- Zoom boom experience
- Skid steer experience
- 3+ years of construction experience working in a similar leadership role
- Experience working on institutional, high-rise, or mixed-use construction projects preferred.
- Fall Protection ticket considered an asset
- WHMIS2015 (we can provide)
