We are currently recruiting a Labor Foreman/Forewoman to oversee a crew of 1-10 laborers on a busy high-rise construction site in Winnipeg, MB.

Wage

• $28 - $34/hour depending on experience, negotiable

Duties/Responsibilities

• Participate in daily toolbox talks and standard work procedure reviews
• Incident investigations (support safety advisor where required)
• Responsible for performance management and when necessary, discipline up to and including terminations
• Responsible for tracking crew hours and productivity and reporting on these metrics
• Daily review of paperwork including crew timecards, FLHA’s, production sheets, coding of timecards
• Daily planning of tasks
• 3 day look ahead
• Provides day to day direction and oversight to laborers and equipment operators
• Coaches, mentors, and trains direct reports
• Plans and supervises day-to-day labor operations on site.
• Jump in on the tools and help laborers with duties such as stripping, and run equipment as required
• Identifies manpower requirements for the project and make recommendations to the Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
• Maintaining tool cribs, ensuring adequate numbers and types are available and making sure tools are in good working order
• Conducts safety meetings on a regular basis.
• Ensures adequate site-specific safety orientation and training has been completed before new employees start on site

Working Conditions

• Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day
• Working outside in extreme weather
• 40 hours per week starting at 7:00 am. Overtime and work on weekends as required.

Requirements

• Zoom boom experience
• Skid steer experience
• 3+ years of construction experience working in a similar leadership role
• Experience working on institutional, high-rise, or mixed-use construction projects preferred.
• Fall Protection ticket considered an asset
• WHMIS2015 (we can provide)
