Job Description

Title: Internal Communications Specialist

Reports to: Communications Manager

Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Kingsville, ON

Type of Employment: Full-Time, permanent, 5-days a week; and some additional hours which may include Saturdays, depending on workload, priorities, and travel requirements.


Position Overview: As the Internal Communications Specialist at Mucci Farms, you will play a critical role in establishing and executing an internal communications strategy that improves communication channels and fosters collaboration among our diverse workforce. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including human resources, operations, and leadership, to ensure consistent and engaging messaging across all facilities. By leveraging your expertise in internal communications, you will contribute to enhancing employee engagement, promoting our company culture, and facilitating effective information flow.

We are currently seeking an Internal Communications Specialist to join our team and drive effective communication across all our facilities in North America.


Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with internal or external resources to ensure high-quality and visually appealing communications materials.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in internal communications to identify opportunities for improvement and innovative solutions.
  • Help coordinate and support internal events, including assisting with the Mucci Farms Excellence program and participating on the Employee Relations Committee.
  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy to enhance communication and engagement among employees across Mucci Farms' facilities in North America.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including HR, operations, and leadership, to understand communication needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Create and deliver compelling and consistent internal communications materials, including bi-annual newsletters, content for companywide digital screens, announcements, and presentations.
  • Work closely with facility managers to ensure consistent messaging and coordination across all facilities.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives and regularly report on key performance indicators.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels including town hall meetings, employee surveys, and others, to facilitate two-way communication and gather feedback.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, valid passport and ability to travel to various industry tradeshows and events.
  • Experience collaborating with designers or marketing agencies to create relevant, appealing content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A creative and strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement through new mediums.
  • Proven experience/understanding in internal communications, preferably in a large organization or a multi-facility environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • A Post-Graduate degree or Diploma in a relevant field or substantial experience in a similar role will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences and platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in internal communications.
