Architecture49’s Ontario Seaway Region office is currently looking for an Intermediate or Senior Architect to join our studio. Our projects span from Central to Eastern Ontario serving a mix of public and private clients in sectors that include education, community health, multi-residential, commercial and industrial.


The preferred location for this position would be in Central or Eastern Ontario as the candidate will be needed to travel to job sites, in-person meetings or presentations, and social gatherings. Remote working will be considered for top candidates.

A day in the life…


  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Ensure designs and deliverables are in compliance to applicable standards, codes and regulations.
  • Assist with business development initiatives and proposals as required.
  • Contribute to design and technical excellence of the office.
  • Ability to act as Project Architect on assignments in collaboration with the team and Project Manager.
  • Perform site reviews to ensure construction is proceeding according to contract documents.
  • Coordinate with team, subconsultants and construction professionals to ensure project design and technical quality while aligning to client timelines and budget expectations.


What You'll Bring To A49…


  • Ideally hold a valid Driver’s license or have ability to travel to rural sites.
  • Construction administration/ site review experience will be considered an asset.
  • Basic proficiency in Revit.
  • Written and spoken English proficiency is required. French will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe suite, Enscape or Lumion will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in the OBC and/or NBC.
  • LEED or Passive House Accreditation will be considered an asset.
  • Registered architect in Ontario (OAA), or eligible to be registered in Ontario.
  • Min of 7+ years of experience in architecture industry.
