Hydrovac Operator Jobs

Job Summary: Operate Hydrovac trucks to slot trench, daylight and dig to expose telecommunications lines and utilities.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Ensure all Hydrovac truck equipment and components are in good working condition at all times
• Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operation
• Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis
• Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are in a clean state and operating properly
• Exposing telecommunication lines and utilities
• All other duties as required
• Slot trenching, daylighting and digging
• Must be able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

• Ability to job task plan and organize
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment
• Energetic, confident self-starters, with a strong work ethic
• Good communication skills
• Driver license with clean driver’s abstract. Class 1 or 3 (standard or manual transmission)
• Ability to problem solve, think critically, and make decisions
• Basic math skills
• Physical ability to perform work
• Must have or be willing to acquire: Safety Tickets: First Aid & AED/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space, CSTS-09, PCST, Ground Disturbance Level 2 Supervisor, Safety Watch for Hot Dig
• Basic mechanical skills preferred

Working Conditions:

• 12-hour shift; shift work.
• Work in all weather conditions.
