Health Services Department
- Follow Health and Safety principles in delivering care to clients in the community while working effectively and cooperatively with others.
- Attend job related workshops, seminars and conferences as requested, to keep current on the developments or changes in the area of Home Care.
- Ensures the personal and spiritual needs of the client are respected.
- Ensure the housekeeping needs of the client are met and respected.
- Plan and prepare meals adhering to any special dietary needs or requests.
- Transport clients to either medical appointments, personal banking, shopping and/or social events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain safety procedures as required by FMFN.
- Provide care and companionship for individuals and families during periods of incapacitation, convalescence or family disruption.
- Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid First Aid certification is required
- Must be physically capable of performing required duties. This includes occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive walking, bending, squatting, twisting motion and kneeling is required
- Knowledge in safe food handling, nutrition and meal preparation
- Excellent attention to detail and execution on work quality
- High School Diploma is required
- Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract Required
- Experience working in an Indigenous community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is considered an asset
- Ability to speak and/or understand Cree and/or Dene is an asset
