We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Gatineau. Reporting to the General Manager, the Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment in order to perform the work required. He or she is also responsible for checking the equipment being driven and ensuring that preventive maintenance is performed on the various machines.
Primary Responsibilities:

• All related tasks.
• The work area must be kept clean.
• Drive and operate, in accordance with the health and safety rules established by the company, a mechanical shovel and a wheel loader, better known as a loader.
• The work must be done with good practices and good work methods in order to respect the rules of health and safety at work.
• Load customer trucks with biomass, concrete, crushed brick and other construction materials.
• Ensure that the preventive maintenance of the machines driven is done in the required time (oil change, breakage, lubrication, etc.)
• Perform mechanical inspection and complete required inspection forms.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• To fill this position, it is essential to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and good judgment.
• You must be punctual, efficient and have good communication skills.
• It is also necessary to be autonomous, resourceful and to work efficiently and safely.
• The candidate we are looking for has professional studies in heavy equipment operation or equivalent experience.
• We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position or in the operation of heavy machinery.
