Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Labourer to join our team. The General Labourer will be responsible for performing various tasks to assist with the smooth operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, adaptable, and capable of completing a wide range of tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position. All tools, PPE (excluding steel toed boots) and specialised equipment training will be provided on the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople as needed, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers
• Material Handling Equipment for Hazardous Chemicals
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Filter Press
• Perform a variety of manual tasks, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, digging, and cleaning
• Operate plant equipment including but not limited to,
• Grinding Mills
• Load and unload materials, products, and supplies from trucks or other transportation vehicles
• Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment, tools, and materials
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste
• Pumps and Valves

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new tasks
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required
• Forklift experience (Forklift ticket and asset but not required)
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and environments
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
