Food Service Worker [Grand View Manor]

Grand View Manor is a not for profit long term care home known to support our community through our commitment to quality care and innovative support for both clients and staff. In our 142 bed facility, care is provided in an enriched housing, an assisted living, and a nursing home setting.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

• Dishwashing, stocking shelves
• Position may involve vegetable, sandwich, salad, dessert, nourishment, etc. preparation and service
• Preparing and serving of food, including assisting with special diet preparation
• Delivery and pick-up of food carts
• Stripping of trays and tables in the dining rooms
• Perform other related duties as required
• Involved with all aspects of tray set-up and assembly

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new tasks
• Recent training in safety/sanitation, such as the Food Safety Course, would be an asset
• Ability to lift up to 25kgs, stand long periods of time
• Team player
• Clear criminal record /vulnerble sector check
• Good communication skills
• Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
• Previous experience within institutional food service an asset
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform routine written tasks

Licence/Certification: Smart Serve (preferred)
