Job Summary And Requirements
This is for 2 (two) full-time positions to fill one permanent and one two year term, working 75 hours bi-weekly .

We are looking for individual(s) who can maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working within tight and often changing time lines. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment and solid research and writing skills are critical as well as an innovative and collaborative approach to team building and problem-solving.
This position is responsible for the coordination and preparation of variance reports, budgets and budget briefing notes. The position is also responsible for the monitoring and control of expenditures and recoveries. There are four Financial and Budget Officers in the unit who are assigned specific portfolios within the department and work in conjunction with Finance Service Clerks, also assigned to the same portfolio, to ensure accurate financial transactions, reporting and administrative effectiveness/efficiency.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
  • Experience providing in-depth financial analysis and advice on a variety of accounting and administrative operations, procedures and systems.
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience managing a broad range of financial functions such as variance reporting, auditing, budgeting, business planning, and in-depth financial analysis and interpretation of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Coursework in Business Administration or related discipline.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may also be considered.

  • Planning and detail oriented with the ability to think strategically.
A one-year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.
