Exciting Job Opportunity - Finance Manager/Business Partner (Confidential)


Our client, a prestigious construction organization with a strong presence across Canada, seeks a talented Finance Manager/Business Partner for their thriving plant location in Kingston. As the Finance Manager/Business Partner, you will spearhead the development and implementation of strategic objectives and ensure effective financial management reporting systems are in place. Responsibilities:


Safety:


Champion safety policies and foster a culture of safety across all work environments.

Financial Analysis:


Manage accounting and reporting functions, including analyzing financial results, identifying improvement areas, and presenting management presentations.

Provide financial support to senior management and interpret events from a financial perspective.

Analyze results, offer insightful commentaries, and make strategic recommendations.

Financial Planning & Modelling:


Collaborate with the plant team to prepare annual budgets, mid-term plans, and plant development plans.

Conduct financial modeling and quantitative analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and trends, providing proactive recommendations.

Offer financial guidance and support to the operational team.

Financial Reporting:


Provide timely and accurate financial information to local Senior Leaders and Finance Director.

Prepare monthly journal entries, oversee manufacturing and shipping station month-end close, and ensure accurate reporting of plant capital needs.

Manage fixed assets accounting, validation, physical count, and reconciliation.

Financial Compliance:


Maintain strong financial and accounting controls, ensuring adherence to company policies.

Drive process standardization within the plant and collaborate with the Finance team to achieve efficiency across all cement plants.

Inventory Management:


Oversee plant inventory through thorough review, reconciliation, and forecasting based on production and consumption requirements.

Process Optimization:


Drive efficiency and standardization across all plants, acting as a change agent for process and system improvements.

Liaise with Service Centers to achieve collaborative business objectives.

Handle ad-hoc requests as required.

Results / Accountabilities:


Provide financial management support, driving business performance through comprehensive analytics.

Cultivate effective relationships with the operational team and plant manager.

Maximize operating efficiencies and asset utilization.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Deliver timely and accurate financial statements and reports.

Proactively identify business issues based on financial analyses.

Provide finance support for ad-hoc requests, monthly reporting, and projects.

Enhance the safety culture.

Qualifications:


Education & Work Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

5+ years of progressive financial management experience.

Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CPA, or CA) required.

Operational and Shared Services Finance experience preferred.

SAP and HARP knowledge is an asset.

Bilingual proficiency (English-French) is mandatory.

Knowledge & Skills:


Demonstrated financial analysis and cost control skills.

Strong understanding of plant operations.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to influence effectively.

Proficiency in SAP/ERP BI and GAAP.

Familiarity with shared services model for finance.

HARP knowledge.
