Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Executive Director, Corporate Services will be a leader for effective service delivery today and a visionary for transformation and service innovation for tomorrow. The portfolio has been designed intentionally to integrate strategy, people, process and technology into one integrated division. This provides the Executive Director with the integrated capacity to drive incremental efficiency improvements and large-scale transformation including digital transformation.


The Executive Director, Corporate Services will identify, explain and champion an environment of collaboration and strategic leadership that drives service quality, accessible information and digital transformation. With a specific focus on resident-centric information, people, marketing, communications and information technology management, the Executive Director, Corporate Services, provides oversight and strategies for the management of the City’s culture, strategic planning, and performance measurement both externally and internally. The Executive Director, Corporate Services will guide and support their leadership team in these departments and portfolios to achieve department goals while delivering overall corporate outcomes in a sustainable manner.


The Successful Candidate


The successful candidate will come with a level of education and experience that is commensurate with the position. Additional qualifications include:


  • Community leadership and consultation skills
  • Strategy development and implementation skills
  • Change management skills
  • Ability to hold individuals accountable for delivering outcomes and results
  • A Master's in business administration or public administration degree would be preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in business transformation
  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Effective decision-making and delegation skills
  • Experience managing enterprise-wide portfolios
  • Effective leadership and people-management skills
