The Evvaluation team at Interior Health has an opportunity for a Term Specific Full Time Evaluation Specialist!
This position is flexible within the Interior Health region!
The primary role of the Evaluation Team is to assist the Senior Executive Team and Program Leads in assessing whether programs are effective, efficient and achieve expected outcomes with the intended population groups. Evidence from these evaluations can be used to create recommendations for improvement, inform decisions, create accountability and provide opportunity for continued learning.
Our team also provides evaluation education to staff members, coaches colleagues who are carrying out their own evaluation activities, and researches and applies evaluation best practices.
About The Role
The Evaluation Specialist works as part of a small evaluation team leading the evaluation of selected Interior Health (IH) projects and programs with a particular focus on Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) and related programs. Examples of such programs/projects include Virtual Mental Health Substance Use, Suboxone in the Emergency Department and the IH Substance Use Framework. The Evaluation Specialist reviews MHSU and related initiatives and may supervise practicum students on work that has a focus on effecting positive impacts on healthcare service delivery.
The Evaluation Specialist also supports the ongoing development of evaluation competencies in other IH staff and plays a pivotal role in improving healthcare services by supporting planning, decision-making, and accountability in IH. Some travel will be required throughout the region including in-person meetings in Kelowna with existing Evaluation Team members.
