Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories is a not-for-profit applied research institution focused on cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies.Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories is tackling the ambitious goal of accelerating quantum technologies from proof-of-concept to real-world commercializable solutions. We are searching for an engineer or applied physicists with a strong focus on systems control problems involving FPGAs and the Xilinx platform to fill a technical staff position. The technical staff position requires full-time, on-site work as part of a team.
We are interested in hiring candidates who want to work on a team and have a passion for application-driven R&D.Candidates must have a minimum of a M.S., or equivalent experience, in physics, electrical engineering, optics or a closely related field. Applicants with a Ph.D. are encouraged to apply. Additional experience, such as work in the advanced technology sector or as a postdoc is preferred for the technical staff applicants. The successful applicants will work under a project lead and with other staff scientists and engineers in a collaborative environment. Skills and training of particular interest are: FPGA programming on the Xilinx platform, control systems and systems integration and server management. A demonstrated ability to successfully work in a close team environment is required. We value inquisitiveness and creative problem solving above all. Applicants do not have to have experience in all of the desired areas, but should emphasize interests and relevant experience in their application.

Key responsibilities:
·Design, develop and maintain FPGA Xilinx devices and control systems
·Work collaboratively with research scientists and engineers to achieve project goals
·Maintain and enhance current hardware code base
·Conduct directed research and development to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies
Required qualifications:
·Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a closely related field
·Strong experience in hardware engineering, especially in FPGA development and programming
·Proficiency in programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog
·Excellent problem-solving skills and desire to learn quickly
·Strong communication and collaborative skills
Preferred qualifications:
·Experience in server management
·Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Julia and Python
·Experience in PCB design software, PCB fabrication and PCB assembly
