Principal Engineer – Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design

Embark on a career turning innovative ideas into reality. As part of the dynamic product development team within the High Performance Analog division of MACOM, the candidate will work with marketing, application and back-end teams to define, design and bring to production best-in-class mixed signal integrated circuits for serial communications over copper and fiber.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated track record of introduction of products to the market, have a deep understanding of analog and high frequency design fundamentals and building blocks. Capability to drive the overall product flow from definition to qualification is also required.
Job qualifications:

• Knowledge and/or prior experience with one or more serial data communication standards is a plus (50G/100G/200G-PAM4, SATA/SAS, PCI Express, Infiniband, SONET/SDH, FTTx, Video SMPTE)
• Experience with lab equipment (real-time and sampling scopes, signal and pattern generators, spectrum analyzers and VNAs)
• In-depth understanding of all aspects of analog and high frequency design
• Good organizational and leadership skills
• MSEE with minimum of 7 years of analog design experience of high frequency/high speed products in CMOS and/or BiCMOS technologies
• Experience in driving prototype evaluation, debug, and testing
• In depth understanding of analog and high speed building blocks such as Gbps equalizers, CDRs, PLLs, laser drivers, transimpedance amplifiers, ADCs and DACs
• Proficient with EDA design tools, electromagnetic (EMX/HFSS) and system level simulators (ADS/Matlab)
• Experience with system design-in support
• Demonstrated successful track record of product introduction of products for serial communications over copper and fiber
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
