Dispatcher
Our client is an industry leading provider of innovative transportation management
solutions. They provide technology and services to shippers interested in improving
their transportation processes and reducing their costs.
As a Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating and expediting domestic and cross- border shipments, ensuring best routes and rates available, and provides support to internal & external customers.
Location: Remote - Work from home (after completion of training)
Hours: Must be flexible work any of 10:00am-6:00pm and 11:00am-7:00pm shifts
Responsibilities
· Dispatch freight, take orders, enter orders into system
· Source out carriers, negotiate with carrier for best possible rate (TL and LTL)
· Maintain and update all customer files for assigned accounts
· Share information about the customer to the team.
· Maintain up-to-date information on legislation and regulations applicable to trucking services (i.e. request copies of carrier’s Motor Carrier Authorities and Insurance Certificate for all new carriers used)
· Evaluate and advise superiors regarding transportation trends, costs, options and issues
· Identify opportunities for improving service or transportation costs
· Ensure deliveries are timely; in case of delays inform customers and make alternative arrangements, as necessary
· Work with assigned customers to maximize shipping logistics
Qualifications
· 3 years experience as a Dispatcher
· Must have proven experience in identifying & vetting potential carriers
· Experience dealing with cross border loads from Canada to the US via road transport
· Must be comfortable with working in a customer-facing environment
· Detailed-oriented.
· Strong communication skills
· Organized and detail oriented
· Ability to handle a large volume of work and meet tight deadlines.
· Strong Keyboarding skills
· Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Minimum education level: High School Diploma
