Dishwasher - Yorkdale (Weekends)

Dishwashers at iQ are part of a broad collective of individuals that are passionate about health, wellness and sustainable food that rolls with the seasons.

Dishwashers are some the hardest working and most highly respected members of the iQ team. They are primarily responsible for washing and organizing pots, pans and smallwares in our restaurants. However, Dishwashers are also asked to assist with basic food preparation. Their ability to help in various areas of the restaurant makes their contributions invaluable. Expectations for this role are high. Dishwashers must be able to perform some of the most physically demanding work in our restaurants with a tremendous amount of care. They must take pride in their role and understand that their impact is immense.

While the majority of the aspects of the role call for independent work, we move together and work as a single unit driven by a passion for excellence and a common love of sustainable and seasonal food.

Requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting our team with any other food preparation needs that may arise as a result of a busy work day
• Working alongside all Team Members as a collective in keeping our restaurants immaculate (there is no single Busser - we work as a team ensure our floors are clean, our organics and recycling stations neat, and our bathrooms fresh)
• Organizing all washed items and ensuring that they are in their right place within the kitchen and restaurant
• Secondary duties include storage runs as well as general cleaning duties including mopping of floors and assisting in the general clean up of our shops at day end
• Assisting Team Members during busy breakfast, lunch and dinner rushes to assemble and plate our dishes with consistency
• Using both manual and automated techniques to wash pots, pans and smallwares (amongst other things)

QUALITIES + QUALIFICATIONS WE LOOK FOR:

• Ability to work quickly (speed is important in this role)
• Takes pride in a clean, neat and organized workspace
• Dependable, energetic
• We value attitude + have a great training program so prior experience as a dishwasher is preferred, but not required

The successful candidate will be available to work Saturday + Sunday 12pm-8.30pm
