Job Summary And Requirements
This is a full-time permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly .

The Director is responsible for administration, enforcement, maintenance, evaluation and development of multiple statutes including the Assessment and Taxation Act, the Seniors Property Tax Deferment Act, and their regulations, as well as the Home Owners Grant (HOG) program, Rural Electrification and Telephone Program (RETP), the Domestic Water Well Program (DWWP), and the Better Buildings Program (BBP). The Director, Property Assessment and Taxation ensures that current, fair, accurate property assessment and taxation services are provided to governments, municipalities, and property owners towards adequately funding government services through the collection of property taxes.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications – specifically – how your work experiences and related duties align with the essential qualifications shown below.   • Experience managing financial and human resources; and
  • Experience in public outreach and/or communications.
  • Experience in the development, analysis and evaluation of policies, legislative amendments, regulations and programs;
  • A degree in a related field and must be a professionally qualified assessor with one of the following three qualifications: Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA) (or a similar current transferable accreditation), Certified Assessment Evaluator, or Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute
  • Experience applying and enforcing of the Assessment and Taxation Act and various other acts
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional Information
Job Requirements: Willingness to travel throughout Yukon and Canada is a requirement of this position.
