Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Director of Data Engineering fluent in the Azure platform and in SAP S/4HANA to lead our team of Data Engineers in the United States and Canada, collaborating with Business and technical stakeholders. We leverage an exciting, cutting-edge technology stack using composable architectures. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, BI reporting, as well as some understanding of Data Science and Advanced Analytics.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data engineering pipelines using a composable set of cloud tools
  • Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering in order to improve our productivity as a team
  • Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity
  • Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions
  • Team Leadership and technical guidance on Data Engineering


Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks or related Python/Spark-based environments for data processing
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Azure cloud data tools including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Event Hub, Azure Data Lake Storage and API management
  • Familiarity with Power BI
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus
  • Expertise in SAP S/4HANA and SAP Change Data Capture services


Experience

  • 5 years of experience working in data engineering or architecture role, 7+ preferred
  • Exposure to Machine Learning, Data Science, computer vision, Artificial Intelligence, statistics, and/or applied Math
  • 2+ years on a leadership role in BI, Data Engineering or Data Science
  • IoT and MQTT messaging experience, including Azure IoT Hub and Stream Analytics (desired)


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
