As our Digital Media Lead, you will help shape the future of media buying by insourcing activities while executing global and local marketing strategies and campaigns across various digital channels, that meet performance objectives, while maximizing profitability.


About the role

Reporting to the Global Head of Digital Media, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams across the organization while taking ownership for the effective development and execution of projects according to business requirements
  • As a member of the company in-house agency, help conceptualize and bring to life global marketing strategies across different digital channels with established local brands
  • Test new digital media channels while researching and evaluating future technology potential
  • Continuously observe marketing activities and evaluate effectiveness of initiatives and chosen media channels, adapting marketing mix to best support continued development
  • Work with trafficking, ad serving and finance departments as part of the digital media management process.
  • Set up social media and programmatic campaigns that drive positive engagement on a variety of digital platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, SnapChat, Youtube and others) while liaising with local brand managers and other key stakeholders on digital media objectives and strategy
  • Assist with data and KPI analysis using the global ad-tech ecosystem and Analytics 360
  • Understand target audiences and reach/inspire them by developing engaging buys, content and consumer journeys
  • Work collaboratively with global teams and use insights/learnings from colleagues across the different markets to provide input to the overall marketing/digital strategy and activities
  • Analyze campaign performance and conduct post-buy analysis and recommend inflight tactical changes based on key KPI media metrics and consumption ROI to maximize performance across social and programmatic channels, in line with budget parameters
  • Work directly with the local marketing team to own the digital media strategy planning and provide hands-on execution of engaging digital campaigns across the market, including focus periods with customers through their digital platforms
  • Support and work with media buys across associated retailer and customer digital platforms (Walmart, LCL, Sobeys, Metro, etc.), while remaining informed regarding eContent on a continuous basis, communicating any corresponding requirements
  • Identify consumer trends, build external networks with industry experts, agencies and customers to bring leading edge perspectives and capabilities to win in modern retail
  • Regularly track and report on related business performance, status of projects, KPI metrics, etc
  • Provide digital expertise and professional support to local market and within the marketing community
  • Support additional projects and initiatives with the marketing team and perform other duties, as required



Who are you?

You have a five or more years’ experience in Digital Media strategy and activation experience, ideally with direct experience in Consumer Packaged Goods. Your experience includes digital media activations at or working with agency partners, and conducting post program evaluations and optimizations. You have experience with digital ad ops, specifically on digital and social media campaigns and with content best practices. You knowledge includes digital ad ecosystems (Analytics, Ad Server, DSPs), as well as Facebook/Instagram, DSP and Programmatic media buying – preferably DV360. Your knowledge and experience also includes Canadian retailer digital platforms (LCL, Walmart, Sobeys, Metro) and market analytical tools (Nielsen, etc).

You will have a post secondary degree or diploma in a business, marketing or equivalent field.
