Job Description

Elements Inc. is seeking a Digital Media Coordinator to collaborate with our marketing and creative team to enhance the brand and build a strong online community through various social and digital marketing channels.


In this role, you will be responsible for collaboratively developing, executing, and monitoring strategies and campaigns across all organic social media and digital channels, including, and not limited to website and email marketing.


Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Media Coordinator will ensure our digital media marketing efforts are executed on time, on-brand, and contribute to the goals of the company.


Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and passionate about our brands and their story and is continually inspired and excited by discussions around outdoor sport, sustainability, community, and environmental and social justice.

Elements owns and operates Patagonia Banff, Calgary and Victoria, as well as Elements Outfitters at Calgary Downtown, Calgary South (Willow Park) , Edmonton, Edmonton South, and Tsawwassen.


Key Accountabilities


-Supports the development, project management, and execution of impactful storytelling materials for Elements’ digital media channels


-Ensures social content aligns with Elements’ content strategy, voice of our core brands and guidelines

-Assists in developing master social media calendar for upcoming season and schedule content that reflects brand values and enhances traffic, conversations, and engagement


-Tracks, measures, and reports on all social channels and analytics on a weekly basis and coordinates with affiliated brand ambassadors and community partners to incorporate their analytics into routine KPI measurement

- Monitors community engagement and incoming messages to respond and support their needs in a timely manner

- Researches and monitors benchmark trends from competitors and audience preferences at a platform level and provide recommendations for growth opportunities


-Assists with hosting and facilitating events in the Greater Calgary area and beyond; local travel may be required on occasion

- Assists in the internal training and adoption of social media policies


Qualifications and Personal Strengths


-Naturally curious, idea generator, and avid user of social media platforms


- Personal interest and enthusiasm for outdoor sport and recreation, environmental and social consciousness, and community connections is an asset


-Knowledge of consumer behavior and trends in social content and how to apply them to the Elements’ core brands (Patagonia and Filson)


-Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and shift between projects


-Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities, develop plans and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment


-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven interpersonal skills, including internal communication, coordination, and facilitation skills


-Strong writing, copy editing and proofreading skills


-Ability to navigate both the creative and analytical sides of digital media marketing


-Basic graphic and web design experience is required


Role Expectations & Other Considerations


This is a full-time salaried position with a requirement to be located in the Greater Calgary area or willingness to travel to collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Elements Corporate team.


As a busy and growing small business, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a remote/work-from-home environment with frequent collaborative meetings with the Marketing Manager, field days for events, also required etc.
