Job Description
Come create the technology that helps the world act together
We are a B2B technology innovation leader pioneering the future where networks meet cloud.
At Nokia you will have a positive impact on people's lives and help build the capabilities needed for a more productive, sustainable, and accessible world.
Be part of a culture built on an inclusive way of working where we are open to your ideas, you are empowered to take risks and are encouraged to be fearless in bringing your authentic self to work.
Network Infrastructure
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society.Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The team you will be a part of
Nokia's IP Routing team produces the equipment that "makes the internet go".You will be part of this larger team, working with and supporting embedded C/C++ software developers to keep them productive. You will be one of the de facto "go-to" persons to fix the build/development environments. This team is made up of first class programmers and tinkerers who like hard projects with short project lifecycle, so they can "mix it up" and always be working on something different and learning new technologies.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of the team, you will:
  • Write tools using scripting languages (Python/Perl) and shell scripts.
  • Be part of a DevOps team developing and improving CI infrastructure and pipelines, development environments, and toolchains on Nokia's IP Routing team
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to research, design, develop, and implement build features and enhancements. Influence, guide, and reinforce the adoption of standards and processes across the development teams
  • This role is not a "loadbuild" low-end position; this requires a sharp and clever coding mind!
  • Customize and deploy open-source tools on Linux for software development and continuous integration.
Your Skills And Experience
You have :
  • Good knowledge of systems administration and the Linux platform
  • Good communication skills, ability and willingness to assist people
  • A track record of writing clean, high-quality, high-performing, scalable code in Python, Perl, bash, Go, orC++.
  • Ability to delve into pre-existing source code with little guidance and to switch context rapidly.
  • You can quickly learn about our environment(s), configuration(s), and systems.
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Experience with revision control systems. Proficiency in Git an asset.
  • Experience deploying 3rd party open source tools in the cloud and on bare-metal
  • Experience with some of the following technologies/languages: Kubernetes, Docker, JavaScript, Java, Ansible, MySQL, Apache, Nagios, CGI, WSGI, Cloud services: AWS/Azure/GCP, S3.
  • An ability to work independently and a high level of personal drive
  • Experience building software and continuous integration, whether as a SW developer or DevOps engineer.
What we offer
Nokia offers flexible and hybrid working schemes, continuous learning opportunities, well-being programs to support you mentally and physically, opportunities to join and get supported by employee resource groups, mentoring programs and highly diverse teams with an inclusive culture where people thrive and are empowered.
What we offer
  • Onsite complimentary fitness centre
  • Local Employee Resource Groups to support inclusion and diversity

We are committed to a culture of inclusion built upon our core value of respect.
