- Manage city wide event bid development:
- Attend the Event Activation Committee meetings, along with Manger, Destination Development, to engage with industry stakeholders and encourage event activation across the whole city of Regina
- Activate the city during marquee and signature events to drive improved visitor economy outcomes and enhance the Regina event experience
- Develop and explore tourism opportunities
- Work internally with Marketing and Visitor Services team members, and external stakeholders to optimize event activation efforts to drive improvements to the visitor experience, while increasing visitor spend and extending visitor length of stay
- Maintains brand consistency across multiple communications
- Encourage the exploration and development of tourism opportunities in high-potential areas of our visitor economy (e.g., Indigenous tourism opportunities and agricultural tourism opportunities)
- Maintain awareness and understanding of new opportunities emerging in our city and identify opportunities to support their viability
- Manage the destination and signature event activation by:
- Position Tourism Regina as a desirable hosting destination
- Manage stakeholder relations during the bid creation process
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Contribute to creation and development of event bids
- Deliver final bid product at the highest caliber to Manager
- Facilitate relationships, connections, and opportunities as emerging ideas begin to mature towards economically viable products
- Knowledge of integrated marketing/promotional campaigns with experience leading content and creative execution which aligns with brand standards
- Post-secondary education in Business Marketing, Events, Tourism, or a related field is required
- Minimum 1 year of direct marketing, tourism, or events experience. A combination of related education and experience may be considered
- Communication: ability to convey ideas, information, and emotions effectively to others, both verbally and written. This includes active listening to understand others' perspectives and responding appropriately
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
- Task Organization: break down complex projects into smaller, manageable tasks and organize them logically to facilitate efficient completion
- Time Management: prioritize tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines efficiently, allowing to stay focused and productive
- Computer Proficiency: advanced Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and various marketing platforms (example: Adobe, Canva)
- NOTE: Hours of work will vary at times, based on operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities
- Resourcefulness: find innovative ways to overcome challenges and leverage available resources to get things done
- Collaboration: ability to work effectively as part of a team, sharing responsibilities, and supporting others to achieve shared goals
- Continuous Learning: knowledge of marketing and communications principles
- Initiative: look at areas of opportunities or challenges and act upon them. Proactive in seeking out tasks and responsibilities

- Motivation: strong internal drive to achieve objectives and not easily discouraged by obstacles or setbacks
- Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time depending on the event and operational requirements
- Regular office environment; long periods of sitting, frequent computer use
- Must be able to carry/push/pull 25+lbs
- Ability to obtain free tickets to a wide variety of sporting and entertainment events
