Brief
Reporting to the Captain, the incumbent will be responsible to handles cables of various sizes in order to perform the berthing and unberthing of the tug. He also carries out all tug maintenance operations. The incumbent will be required to work at the port of Hamilton, Ontario
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the berthing of tugs using cables
  • Participate in the maneuvers on the tug
  • Adjust the bridge and see to the safe transfer of persons
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
  • Maintain accommodations and decks
  • Perform cleaning, painting and other work in relation to tug maintenance
  • Ensure connection to ground power (outlet and circuit breaker)
  • Assist the chief engineer in certain tasks
Requirements
  • Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
  • Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP);
  • STCW Basic Safety
  • Full range of benefits;
  • Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Certificate-Maritime (ROC-M)
  • Permanent job;
