On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Data Scientist/Engineer - Python, NLP, ML.
Data Scientist/Engineer - Python, NLP, ML –

• As an enterprise group we work with multiple partners and use-case types across our bank, including Marketing, Client Operations, Payments and many other business groups
• You will put in the effort to understand the business problem and to answer any questions and concerns brought up by our partners.
• Our mandate is to build and deploy machine learning models as data products and services
• Data Science Expertise: You will utilize your knowledge in statistics, machine learning and/or optimization to frame business problems in a data science context
• You will work closely with our business partners to understand their challenges by asking the right questions to gather information
• You will effectively collaborate with other data scientists and engineers to work together and build data products
• Build data products by writing code that is modular, reliable, maintainable & replicable
• Team Player: You will collaborate with data experts to learn about the data and engineer relevant features
• The Advanced Analytics & MLOps group is a blended team of full-stack Data Scientists and ML Engineers
• We are also involved in building infrastructural projects, both on-prem and in the cloud to enable ML and MLOps at scale
• Consulting Mindset: You will communicate complex concepts in simple and elegant ways

Data Scientist/Engineer - Python, NLP, ML – Mandatory Skills

• 3+ years' experience with data processing & machine learning (Software engineer)
• Experience with Python using the most common data science libraries, such as numpy, pandas, keras, tensorflow, pytorch, spacy, nltk, etc.
• Intermediate SQL experience
• Strong Analytical skills
• Fluency with writing SQL scripts to query relational databases and data warehouses
• Excellent writing skills with a demonstrated ability to properly document projects (for example through README.md)
• Excellent writing skills
• Intermediate level experience with Python *must be able to write efficient code
• Organized
• Proficiency with general Python programming including creating/debugging Python scripts in a non-notebook environment (e.g., PyCharm or Spyder) and modularizing code into Python functions and files
• Master's education within a quantitative discipline
• Experience with NLP, including NER and fuzzy matching
• Good time management

Data Scientist/Engineer - Python, NLP, ML – Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau
• Cloud experience specifically Azure Databrick (AWS or google cloud)
• Familiarity with the Flask or FastAPI web frameworks
• A conceptual understanding or exposure to Docker
• Familiarity with Linux systems & bash commands
• Pyspark experience
• Familiarity working with git branches and/or workflows such as the Feature Branch or GitFlow workflows
