Job Summary And Requirements

Reporting to the Registrar, Yukon Courts, the Clerk of the Supreme Court/Supervisor, Counter Clerks is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective provision of civil court counter services. This position supervises counter unit staff and is responsible for all civil counter unit registry functions and services. It provides administrative, organizational, research and other legal assistance to the courts, general public, legal community, court staff and other branches of government to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the courts and the administration of justice in Yukon.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating programs, policies and procedures
  • Significant experience working in a court or legal environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in interpreting and applying legislationand practice directions such as Rules of Court
  • Post-secondary coursework in law, business administration or a related field

Additional Information
Conditions of Employment: The incumbent must become a Notary Public within 6 months of hire.
Relocation: Relocation costs will not be considered for this position.
