Camp Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper

Job Requirements:

In this role, MATRIX is seeking an experienced Kitchen Helper/Housekeeper for the Whati Camp and associated project located near Whati NT. You are team oriented, motivated, and have acute attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent time management skills. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary kitchen help/housekeeping responsibilities in a timely manner. This position reports to the Camp Manager. Start date for this position is as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Start date June 1 2023.
• Wash and replace bed linens as required.
• Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and small wares as per the Food Safety Plan.
• Clean and sanitize Dry Areas.
• Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
• Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
• Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry rooms
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
• Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.

Required Knowledge & Experience

• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, safely.
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work a rotational schedule (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off)
• Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform physical labor.
• Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years/seasons working in a remote camp as a Housekeeper
• Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
• OFA Level 1 is preferred (not required)

This position is working on a rotational 3 Weeks in 3 Weeks out schedule (Fully Remote). Preference will be given to candidates that live in the area of Watson Lake and surrounding area. We thank all candidates for applying, however please note that only qualified candidates will be contacted.
