Job Description
CAD Technician - Experienced In Construction Drawings (Electrical)


Location: Tri Cities, BC, Canada


Our client is a reputable electrical engineering consulting company specializing in electrical projects and installations.


They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAD Technician for a two month contract – possible extension. If you are passionate about construction drawings, possess excellent attention to detail, and thrive in a collaborative work environment, we would love to hear from you.


Responsibilities:


  • Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to produce technical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
  • Review and interpret design specifications, technical documents, and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized documentation and file management systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to create accurate and detailed construction drawings for electrical projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of material lists, bill of quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address any design modifications or revisions.
  • Stay updated on the latest CAD software and industry trends to enhance productivity and efficiency.


Requirements:


  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, engineers, and clients.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and related design tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, electrical schematics, and layouts.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CAD Technician in the construction industry, with a focus on electrical projects.
  • Solid knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately interpret design specifications.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.


A diploma or degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is preferred
