Building Operator Jobs

Here at Altis we have joined a well-known property management client of ours in their search for an experienced Commercial Building Operator to join their team! This position is Monday to Friday, with hours between 8AM and 4PM on site in Ottawa. Our client offers a competitive compensation package and more!

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day to day operation of commercial/government building
• Winter snow shoveling/removal at all entrances.
• Minor repairs, washroom plumbing and minor electrical repair.
• Preventative Maintenance of mechanical equipment and equipment inspections daily.
• Performing minor repairs on the equipment (belts, ballasts, greasing, plumbing etc.)
• Operating the building HVAC system, BAS, Life Safety System.
• Performing regular readings on equipment and utility metering.
• Responding to all tenant requests.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be able to have a high level of professionalism, integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
• At least +3 years of experience.
• BES I or II, LEED, and/or other equivalent designations.
• Must have a Reliability Security Clearance.
• Must be able to work well on your own, self-motivator.
• Must have good public relations skills with tenants.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform the repairs.
• All work must be performed in accordance with the Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
• Overtime included with on-call rotating schedule.
• Must work safely at all times.

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: High School Diploma
