This is to fill multiple full-time positions, working 80 hours biweekly, underfills may be accepted.

The opportunity…
The Building Engineer position performs ongoing monitoring, operation and maintenance of all assigned heating plants and associated systems with various Yukon Government owned and occupied buildings in assigned areas. The ideal candidate must clearly demonstrate their knowledge of HVAC systems as well as their ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
Essential Qualifications

  • Certification as a Power Engineer 5th Class or higher (copy of certification to be provided upon request);
  • Experience maintaining heating and ventilation systems (HVAC) and hot water boilers;
  • Experience with Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

  • Reliability, with a good work ethic;
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills;
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team or individual environment; and
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities;
Conditions of Employment
  • Obtain and maintain valid RCMP vulnerable sector check
  • Valid Transport Canada/RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card) (obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Yukon Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
  • Power/Building Engineering Ticket
Job Requirements
  • Shift work and working weekends. Travel, work in adverse weather conditions, use of personal protective equipment.
