BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS (BAS) TECHNICIAN
Summary
The Building Automation System Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS) in AIRON-managed client facilities. Attend client sites to complete service and preventive maintenance tasks, program/download/install BAS-related hardware and software, create custom graphical user interfaces, and implement energy and operational optimization initiatives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
On-going Operations
  • Ensure remote platforms are up-to-date.
  • Completion of and responds to preventative maintenance and demand service requests for BAS/Control related issues to maintain, diagnose and rectify.
  • Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices.
  • Complete client approved maintenance repairs and implement temporary overrides to minimize impact while awaiting services.
  • Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental and health and safety.
  • Develop reports for maintenance and repair work utilizing appropriate software tool.
  • Monitor system performance and fault events, perform corrective and demand service maintenance on BAS to achieve facility uptime, uninterrupted client operations, occupants’ comfort asset integrity, and energy and operating cost objectives.
Administration
  • Participate in projects where as necessary.
  • Ensures work completed meets quality, health and safety, and all other requirements.
  • Develop appropriate documentation to obtain client approval for site issues and potential improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Records preventative maintenance and resolution data within existing software tool.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Completion of College Diploma or University Degree program in a related discipline.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Medium to advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet data manipulation and analysis tools (asset)
  • Previous experience in completion of BAS preventative maintenance and response to/completion of client service calls.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong ability to adhere and to properly execute processes, guidelines and practices.
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
