Job Description

The recruitment team at Myticas Consulting is looking for an experienced Financial Controller who would be interested in a Part-Time opportunity offered within the Ottawa, ON region.


This position would be 1-2 days per week. Hybrid work environment.


Main Responsibilities:

  • HST, WSIB, EHT and Source Remittance
  • Ad hoc reporting and Administration as needed
  • Generate Income Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Prepare payroll J/E’s and monthly accruals.
  • Manage Accounts payable
  • Lead initiatives that improve bookkeeping efficiency (leveraging leading edge technology software
  • Assist in Bank reconciliations
  • Manage the month end close process including financial reporting
  • Supervision of bookkeeping support team including mentoring and coaching as required
  • Manage Accounts receivable
  • Assist in Processing Payroll as required


Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in a client service environment preferred
  • Experience with Canadian Payroll Processing
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Minimum 3 Experience with Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
  • Previous supervisory experience (minimum 5 years) is mandatory
  • College Diploma/Degree or equivalent
  • A professional can do attitude with the ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented
