Az/Dz Hydro Vac Operator

GFL Environmental is looking for an DZ Hydro Vacuum Operator to join our growing liquid’s division out of our Fort Erie site.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain job permits, timesheets, sign off billings as well as pre/post trip inspection documents
• Work is primarily performed within the construction industry doing trenching. Work is performed on a customer job site, with most of the work being performed locally (Niagara to Hamilton corridor)
• Boom – this is attached to the top of each truck and can reach up to 25ft (electronic operation)
• For all jobs, Operators are required to set up and tear down jobs
• Water and a vacuum truck are used to break up ground to expose utility lines and pipelines using a Boom and Wand
• Other jobs include ‘Industrial” – these require 4” or 6” hose with one end attached to the truck or to a pipe. These weigh approx. 40-50lbs
• Wand – this requires the Operator to hold a ‘water gun’ (manual job). The wand weighs approx. 10 to 15lbs. There is a very small amount of vibration as water passes through
• Other jobs include ‘Back Yard Digs – only 5% of the jobs require this type of dig. The Boom is not used. 6” hose is used instead

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Weekend work may be required, on call schedule in effect on weekly basis
• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
• Overtime as required
• Valid AZ/DZ License
• Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors
