Autocad (Drafting) Technician Jobs

Our team is growing, and we're looking for an AutoCAD (Drafting) Technician with expertise in design for hospitality projects.

The design studio at Northland Properties specializes in creating exceptional hospitality interiors. The interior design studio at our Vancouver-based Support Centre is seeking an AutoCAD (Drafting) Technician to join our team.

What will you be responsible for?

Duties

As our new AutoCAD (Drafting) Technician, you will work with the interior design team, and your duties will include the following

• Apply strong working knowledge of computer aided design (AutoCAD) software programs.
• Research local, national, and international Building Code and American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, aligned to project locations across Canada and the USA.
• Utilize strong problem-solving skills, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate records and documents of all CADD work.
• Analyze, review, and mark-up technical drawings developed by Interior Designers.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Provide technical expertise and support in computer aided design and drafting (CADD) within the interior design department.
• Support interior designers in planning and drafting plans.
• Using computer aided design and drafting (CADD) tools and software (AutoCAD), create and/ or modify technical interior design drawing sets, including Floor Plans, Furniture Plans, Interior Elevations, Sections, & Details, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Electrical Plans, Millwork & Furniture Drawings, and any other drawings required for interior design plan and specification integration.
• Understand design principles, qualities of materials, and ergonomic factors.
• Review Shop Drawings.

• Knowledge of hotel and restaurant furnishings, manufacturers for furniture systems, fixtures, and finish-related materials, with the ability to direct sourcing and researching, as appropriate.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles
• Ability and willingness to travel.
