Job Description

One Player Mission are pleased to be working with an exciting, independent studio based in Toronto. Recently they launched the sequel to their multi-million copy selling original. They are looking for an experienced Audio programmer to be responsible for a wide range of tasks.


As an Audio programmer, the role requires excellent communication skills as you will be collaborating closely with team members from other departments. The ideal candidate is a team player, willing to help others identify problems and seek creative solutions.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High level of proficiency in modern C++
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with performance analysis and code optimization
  • Experience in Audio Programming in game development
  • Professional video game programming experience
  • Passion for game audio and tools development
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative-taking, including the ability to take on research and self-education
  • Experience with console and PC game development

DESIRED:

  • Experience in an audio engine, Wwise, FMod, OpenAl, Miles, etc.
  • Experience developing AAA titles on multiple platforms
  • Have or are pursuing, a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4/5

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and improve performance across platforms
  • Be a driving force in the continuous improvement of the development environment and practice
  • Integrate new Audio Engine versions into the game
  • Design, prototype, and implement new audio features
  • Create and update documentation, and communicate best practices and technical constraints of the audio systems and tools
  • Debug and fix crashes, concurrency issues, and platform-specific problems
  • Develop features related to audio in partnership with game designers and sound designers
  • Be a main resource for the integration of the sound of the game, from pre-production to delivery
  • Work closely with the programming team to accomplish creative solutions to blockers
