Job Description

YELLOWKNIFE WSP has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Yellowknife Office on a full-time basis. You’ll be part of a vibrant local team of scientist, engineers, and project managers. You’ll be managing a variety of projects and clients simultaneously, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Projects are related to environmental assessments, regulatory support, remediation, infrastructure, and mining.
A day in the life…
  • As a project manager you will control and monitor the progress of projects with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, etc. and implement change as appropriate;
  • You’ll be managing relationships with internal and external clients and ensuring that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise;
  • You will support the team with responding to requests for proposal, develop work scopes, budgets and schedules, as well as act as a proposal manager;
  • You will be participating in a team environment, working closely with Project coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers;
  • You will be responsible for Project’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) planning, which includes working with clients on field requirements, review documentation, attendance at pre- and post-field meetings, site visits, etc.;
  • You will be responsible for Sharepoint and file management, and quality control of documentation and systems.
What you'll bring to WSP…
  • Valid PMP certification is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/possess a safety conscious attitude
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • University or equivalent Degree in Environmental Management, Ecology, Engineering or related natural/earth sciences
  • Experience in engineering or environmental consulting an asset
  • 3+ years of relevant consulting experience
