We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled lawyer with expertise in family law to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
As a lawyer practicing in family law, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients with various legal matters related to family law, such as divorce, child custody, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence. You will work closely with senior lawyer and gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the firm's success. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious lawyer to build a successful career in family law.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in family law cases, including high conflict and high net worth divorce files.
- Advising clients on child custody, child support, spousal support and division of assets.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Interview clients, gather relevant information, and assess the merits of each case.
- Attend court hearings, mediation sessions, trials and negotiations on behalf of clients.
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited university.
- Admitted to the Alberta Bar or eligible for admission.
- At least two years of experience in family law, including articling.
- Strong knowledge of family law principles, legislation, and court procedures.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a client-centric approach.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
