Job Description

Stoughton Feed Processing Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager.


The successful candidate will join the team that is responsible for supervising and participating in the efficient and profitable management of our Feed Processing facility. This includes managing inventories, receiving, processing, storing, and quality control functions.


Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000 a year

Full

  • Learn the operations of all equipment and LV computer system used to produce feeds.
  • Supervise and assign duties to staff and monitor work results in cooperation with the GM and Production Manager
  • Meet facility housekeeping and maintenance performance standards and conduct regular housekeeping inspections.
  • Monitor facility and processing costs and recommend improvements to increase operating efficiencies and profitability.
  • Maintain processing and warehousing standards to ensure compliance with quality controls.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA
  • Understand end-user requirements in order to ensure product meets the required specifications.
  • Maintain samples of grain and processed feed inventories.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively plan and organize staff activities.
  • Good eye and colour perception.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of grain regulation and policies.
  • Physical ability to perform the required duties of a feedmill.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external contacts.


Education

  • Requires WHIMS, Confined Spaces, First Aid, and Forklift Operator.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge and competence will be considered.
  • Post -secondary degree or Diploma in Agri-Business
  • Minimum of 2 years of related supervising experience.
